We’ll Miss You Dad

I lost my father today. My father and I had less than an ideal relationship off an on for a number of years, I knew his death was fast approaching, had prepared myself for this inevitable day, and yet, my heart is still broken. As humans we think we understand and know our feelings and the reasons behind them, and still there are things which cannot be explained. My heart broke a second time as I told my son about his grandfather’s death. I watched as he fought back the tears because that is what he thought a man does.
I explained to him that it is okay to cry, that real men do in fact cry, as my tears started to flow. My son’s followed shortly after mine. We sat and hugged and cried together.
Death is the finality which we cannot escape. Maybe this is why there is the strong emotion. All hope is lost to improve or repair the relationship with the person that we have lost. We’ll n ever speak with them again, share a moment, a hug or a smile. The possibility of interaction is gone, all we have now are fixed memories. I made sure that my father knew that I loved him in spite of our historic battles and arguments. We repaired the divide years ago when we both understood that we were different people and looked at things differently, that all of it was okay, and that we could still love each other in spite of it. I want to make sure that I take this with me and my son so we can try to have this throughout our relationship and not have it only towards the latter years of our relationship as he becomes an adult.
My Dad wasn’t perfect, who’s is? But he was my Dad and he was an important element in my life’s story. He taught me some valuable lessons that I will carry with me always, and I will treasure them. I will treasure him because without him, I wouldn’t be who I am, good and bad. I would be someone else and I don’t even like to think about that.
Dad was one of a kind who did things on his terms and his choices. He fought life rather than going with it and he fought it well. It was the way he chose to live and to die. My Father had a very rough childhood and dealt with things as best he could. He was true to his choices in life to the end, and I admire him greatly for that. A friend of his called him “A Mans’ Man” and I feel this is an apt description of Dad. He left a mark on me that I will take with me the rest of my days and will try to pass along to my son.
I love you Dad and I’ll miss you. You’ll live on in my heart, thoughts, and prayers.
Farewell.
USA Officials Stupid or Worthless

It doesn’t really matter, but the question does seem to come up far too often. Are USA politicians and officials simply stupid or are they just worthless?
The reason I say this is that the idiots just figured the economy is in the tank for the next 2 years! Where is the effect of your multi-trillion dollar bailout package Obama? We got pennies back on the dollar for our efforts. this was the largest scam foisted on the American people in the history of our country. Its sole purpose was to line the pockets of the Democrats fat cat supporters. I can say this for a fact because only an imbecile believed that it would do anything for the economy!
Now we have been downgraded, the economy is slipping even further and we cannot afford to do any type of real stimulus package. The Obama administration has orchestrated an economic disaster. For everyone that voted for him, you got what you deserved! For those that didn’t, you should have promoted and supported a worthwhile candidate because McCain would have probably been worse, if you can believe that or not.
Gas Prices Are Soaring

and what are your President and Congress doing about it? Absolutely nothing. Obama is busy helping to stall the outcome in Libya, which the longer it goes on the more it impacts the worldwide oil supply.
We’re now at the $3.85 to $3.90 a gallon for regular unleaded gasoline. $4.00 is less than 16 cents or 5% increase away. This price range will definitely dampen the USA economic recovery and any further increases could kill the recovery. What are our public officials doing about it?
Not much! Are you glad you voted for them now? We’re sitting atop of another economic abyss and our politicians are worthless. This is something that should have been faced 30 years ago when we were dealing with the oil embargo and crushing prices at the gas pumps back in the 70s. But instead of learning from it and doing something about our ridiculous energy policy to insure that it wouldn’t happen again, they sat back and did nothing!
US politicians have been punting our energy problems for over 30 years and during a time when most informed people have known that we were in trouble. They are not serving you, they are freeloading off of you.
